Job summary
Hudson Shribman in Watford, United Kingdom, is seeking a CAD CAM Programmer / Mechanical Design Engineer to join its precision engineering team. The role blends CAD/CAM programming, mechanical design and technical review across machined components and sheet metal work.
You will produce CAD/CAM programs, use hyperMILL, review designs for manufacturability and work closely with machining, production and engineering teams to ensure designs are process-friendly and accurately manufactured.
Qualifications
- Experience in CAD/CAM programming and mechanical design.
- Familiar with hyperMILL CAD/CAM software desirable.
- Background in precision engineering environment.
- Experience with CNC machining and sheet metal components.
- Design for manufacture awareness.
Responsibilities
- Produce CAD/CAM programs for manufactured components.
- Work with hyperMILL CAD/CAM software.
- Undertake mechanical design and engineering work.
- Review component designs and manufacturing requirements.
- Carry out technical reviews of machined components and sheet metal work.
- Interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Work closely with machining, production and engineering teams.
- Help ensure components are designed and programmed with manufacture in mind.
