Job description

JOB - CAD/CAM Programmer

LOCATION - Stoke-On-Trent

TERM - Permanent

SALARY - £40,000 to £50,000 per annum (plus benefits)

My client is a well-established Engineering company specialising in precision components and bespoke manufacturing solutions for a variety of industries. They are looking to grow their production team by taking on a CAD/CAM Programmer to work in their Stoke-On-Trent facility.

Attributes:
  1. Previous experience in a CAD/CAM programming role within an engineering or manufacturing environment
  2. Proficiency with software such as EdgeCAM, Fusion 360, Mastercam, or similar
  3. Strong understanding of CNC machining processes (milling and turning)
  4. Able to interpret technical drawings and engineering schematics
  5. Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  6. Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
  7. NVQ, HNC, HND, or equivalent qualification in Engineering or Manufacturing (preferred)
Responsibilities:
  1. Programming CNC machines using CAD/CAM software to meet engineering specifications
  2. Supporting the production team with efficient tooling and machining strategies
  3. Creating and modifying 3D models and 2D drawings for manufacture
  4. Working closely with engineers, machinists, and quality teams to ensure accuracy and efficiency
  5. Optimising machining processes to improve cycle times and reduce waste
  6. Maintaining and updating documentation for traceability and process control
