Job summary

Egis in the UK is seeking a skilled CAD/BIM Modeller/Technician to bolster our Engineering Directorate. You will produce and coordinate high-quality BIM models, ensure alignment with project standards, and support design through construction across rail projects.

The role requires 5+ years in major infrastructure/transport projects, proficiency with AutoDesk tools, and collaboration within multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated, clash-free designs.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years’ experience in major infrastructure/transportation projects.
  • Experience in an engineering production environment.
  • Railway/transportation/construction background preferred.
  • Experience delivering projects to UK BIM Standards including ISO 19650.
  • Proficient with AutoDesk software and ProjectWise for CDE usage.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in delivering projects from design to construction stages.
  • Create and document detailed BIM models using Civils3D; ensure full coordination.
  • Lead production of detailed construction drawings for railway station elements.
  • Coordinate with BIM Coordinator/Manager and project team per BEP and standards.
  • Maintain project CDE and ensure timely information flow and data management.

As a CAD/BIM Modeller/Technician you will be an integral member of the team as it grows. You will be required to support the engineering teams in current commissions which may be 2D, 3D or BIM Level 2. We are looking for someone who will take this challenge head on, be part of a dynamic team with big ambitions. We will be looking to provide capabilities across light, heavy and metro rail systems and work alongside developing signalling and track teams

The CAD/BIM Modeller/Technician plays a critical role within the Engineering Directorate, focusing on the production and coordination of high-quality BIM models and ensuring their alignment with project standards and the BIM Execution Plan.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in the delivery of projects from technical design to construction stage.
  • Utilise Civils3D for detailed model creation and documentation, ensuring models are fully coordinated and clash-free.
  • Lead the production of high-quality detailed construction drawings for specific elements of railway station projects, ensuring integration with overall project models.
  • Support and liaise with the BIM Coordinator, BIM Manager and wider project team in the implementation of deliverables adhering to specified project standards and to facilitate issue resolution.
  • Assist in the maintenance of the project's CDE, ensuring accurate and timely information flow and adherence to data management standards.
  • Participate in quality assurance checks of drawings to ensure they meet the project's accuracy, detail, and information requirements.
  • Assist in monitoring compliance with the BIM Execution Plan (BEP) and project standards, contributing to regular reports on BIM deliverable status.
  • Work closely with other disciplines to ensure drawings/ models are integrated and coordinated efficiently, attending regular coordination meetings as necessary.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to project team members on drawing and BIM-related issues, promoting best practices in model creation and management.
Skills and experience
  • CAD/BIM Modeler/Technician with at least 5 years’ experience in major infrastructure/transportation projects.
  • Experience of working in an engineering production environment.
  • A railway, transportation or construction background.
  • Experience of delivering projects to UK BIM Standards including ISO 19650.
  • Proficient in using AuotDesk software and in additional ProjectWise for CDE usage.
  • Experience in working within multidisciplinary teams, contributing to the cohesive development of integrated project deliverables.
  • Good knowledge of UK design standards, such as Network Rail, HS2 and TfL.
  • Experience working with BEPs, Task Information Delivery Plans (TIDP), Master Information Delivery Plans (MIDP) and Model Production Delivery Tables (MPDT).
  • Ability to adapt to new BIM technologies and workflows, demonstrating a commitment to continuous learning and improvement.
