Job summary

Barclays is seeking a Caching SRE Lead in Knutsford to drive reliability for high‑traffic caching platforms. You will lead incident response, performance tuning, and platform automation, ensuring service availability across a complex enterprise environment.

You will leverage Redis at scale, Kubernetes/OpenShift deployments, and a strong SRE foundation to deliver resilient, scalable services and self‑service tooling for engineers.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience operating Redis at scale, including cluster, replication, and backup/recovery.
• Hands-on with Kubernetes/OpenShift deployments, upgrades, scaling and troubleshooting in production.
• Strong SRE background covering reliability, incident response, observability, and automation.

Responsibilities

• Ensure availability, performance, and scalability of systems and services through proactive monitoring and capacity planning.
• Respond to outages, perform root cause analysis, and implement preventive measures.
• Develop tools and scripts to automate operational workflows and reduce manual toil.
• Collaborate with development teams to embed reliability and performance into SDLC practices.
• Stay abreast of industry trends and contribute to technical communities to raise engineering standards.
