We are looking for skilled Network Cabling Engineers with expertise in Ethernet and fibre installations to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience working in both data centers and new business environments, ensuring seamless network connectivity for our clients.
Job Responsibilities:
- Install, terminate, and test copper Ethernet (Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6a) and fibre optic cables (single-mode and multi-mode) at client sites, including data centers and new business locations.
- Conduct site surveys and work with project managers to plan and execute cabling installations.
- Perform patching, racking, and stacking of network equipment in server rooms and data centers, following best practices for cable management.
- Ensure proper cable labeling, documentation, and compliance with industry standards.
- Troubleshoot and resolve cabling and connectivity issues, including testing and certification of copper and fibre cabling systems.
- Collaborate with IT teams and contractors to complete network infrastructure installations on time and to client specifications.
- Install cable trays, conduits, and containment systems to support large-scale cabling projects.
- Conduct regular maintenance checks and upgrades on existing network infrastructure.
- Adhere to health and safety standards, ensuring safe working conditions at all times.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in network cabling, with a focus on copper Ethernet and fibre optic installations.
- Experience working in data centers and new business environments, handling large-scale cabling projects.
- Strong knowledge of structured cabling systems, including Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6a, and fibre optic cable types.
- Familiarity with network testing equipment, such as Fluke testers or similar tools, for validating cable performance.
- Ability to read and understand network diagrams, floor plans, and technical specifications.
- Strong understanding of best practices for cable management and installation in secure environments.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Valid certifications in network cabling (e.g., CNCI, CCNA) are preferred.
- Valid driver’s license with own car and willingness to travel to client sites as required.
