Job summary

A leading telecom service provider is seeking experienced Cabling Decommissioning Technicians to support a UK-wide infrastructure decommissioning programme. In this hands-on, field-based role, you will focus on removing legacy coaxial cabling from various environments, ensuring safety and efficiency throughout the process.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in coax or telecom decommissioning required.
  • Comfortable working at heights and in structured cabling environments.
  • Able to work independently and follow technical procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Recovering and removing coaxial cabling from overhead trays and switch rooms.
  • Conducting basic signal testing to confirm circuit disconnection.
  • Labelling and documenting recovered cables and hardware.

Location: UK Wide

Start Date: ASAP

We’re currently supporting a UK wide legacy infrastructure decommissioning programme for some of the UK largest telecoms providers and we are on the lookout for experienced Cabling Decommissioning Technicians to join the team!

This is a hands-on field-based role ideal for someone with strong technical skills and experience removing legacy coaxial infrastructure from headed and switch room environments.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Recovering and removing coaxial cabling from overhead trays and switch rooms
  • Conducting basic signal testing to confirm circuit disconnection
  • Working at height using ladders or platforms (safety-first approach)
  • Labelling and documenting recovered cables and hardware

What We’re Looking For:

  • Previous experience in coax or telecom decommissioning
  • Comfortable working at heights and in structured cabling environments
  • Able to work independently and follow technical procedures
  • Flexible and reliable with strong attention to detail
