Datalink Electronics Ltd are looking to hire a full-time Cable & PCB Assembler, located in Loughborough. This role will be responsible for assembling cables and printed circuit boards with high precision. Day-to-day tasks include interpreting technical drawings, soldering, crimping, connecting wires, encapsulation of PCBs and performing inspections to ensure functionality and quality. This role requires adhering to the company's quality standards and maintaining a clean and organized workspace.

Responsibilities:

• Follow Customer electrical diagrams / schematics for correct installation of components
• Follow proper solder procedures to ensure quality of the finished product
• Populating, soldering and conformal coating of Printed Circuit Boards (PCB's)
• Operating the flow solder and selective solder machines
• Wiring harness and looms using techniques such as soldering, wire / cable termination, wire preparation and free-hand wiring
• Construction of mechanical assemblies / box builds including identification of correct tooling and build issues, encapsulation of PCB's / assemblies to Customer specification, and providing first line engineering support
• Inspection to customer specifications and IPC standards
• Completing all required documentation as required (including paperwork copies and information stored and recorded on computers and in our MRP system)
• Assist Management / Engineering in carrying out NPI activities
• Take a high degree of care of the components handled to minimise loss
• Make sure the correct use of tools and equipment are adhered to
• Ensure the department is achieving the highest standards of quality
• Adhere to all relevant Datalink policies and procedures
• Maintain and promote good housekeeping
• Clearly communicate with other members of staff and escalate any work-related problems to the Production Supervisor / Manager

Requirements:

• Soldering and Crimping: Must possess skills in soldering and crimping for PCB assembly and cable connections
• Technical Reading: Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
• Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail to identify and rectify assembly issues
• Hand-Eye Coordination: Excellent hand-eye coordination for precise assembly work
• Time Management: Effective time management skills to meet production deadlines
• Experience in Electronics Manufacturing: Previous experience in electronics manufacturing is beneficial
• ISO 13485 and ISO 9001 Awareness: Familiarity with ISO 13485 and ISO 9001 standards is advantageous
