Job Opportunity: Cabinetmaker

Due to our recent expansion, we have an opportunity for skilled cabinetmakers to join our team.

Location: Workshop in Lower Dicker, East Sussex

Join a small, talented team of experienced cabinetmakers specializing in bespoke kitchens and furniture. We seek candidates with a high level of attention to detail, motivation, proactivity, and a positive attitude.

Responsibilities:
  1. Set up and operate various woodworking machines and use hand tools to fabricate wooden cabinets and high-grade furniture.
  2. Study blueprints and drawings for construction or repair projects.
  3. Plan sequences of cutting or shaping operations.
  4. Mark outlines or dimensions on paper or lumber according to specifications.
  5. Match materials for color, grain, or texture.
  6. Operate woodworking machines such as power saws, jointers, mortisers, tenoners, molders, and shapers.
  7. Trim joints for a snug fit using hand tools like planes, chisels, or wood files.
  8. Bore holes for screws or dowels by hand.
  9. Glue, fit, and clamp parts to assemble units.
  10. Sand and scrape surfaces for finishing.
  11. Repair high-grade furniture articles.
  12. Install hardware including hinges, catches, and drawer pulls.
