Join Our Team as a C++ Engineer at Hawk-Eye Innovations

Location: Hybrid – 2 days/week in our Budapest office
Offices in : Basingstoke, Bristol and London
Salary Range: 1mil to 1.5mil HUF per month


Hi, I’m KIERAN SMITH, C++ Discipline Lead and hiring manager for this role. I’m excited to invite you to apply for the C++ Engineer position in our Tracking Framework team here at Hawk-Eye Innovations.

What Your Day Will Look Like

As a C++ Engineer in our Tracking Framework Team, you'll help shape and support the core technologies used across multiple sports and products. From data ingest and output to multithreading, deployment of ML models, real-time pipelines and cloud systems — your work will directly impact global sports operations.

You’ll collaborate with product teams, creatives, and fellow engineers using agile sprints to ship reliable, performant systems that power some of the world’s biggest sporting events.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement core components of our real-time C++ frameworks

  • Maintain and optimise existing systems for performance and reliability

  • Support deployment and live testing at sports events worldwide

  • Collaborate across product, design, and engineering teams

  • Conduct code reviews and support junior engineers

  • Continuously improve our architecture, tooling, and development workflow

Tech Stack & Skill Requirements

Required:

  • Proficiency in C++ (modern C++ up to at least C++17)

  • Multithreaded programming and performance optimisation

  • Understanding of object-oriented design principles and architecture

  • Familiarity with Git and Visual Studio

  • Comfortable in a high-performance, real-time software environment

Bonus Skills:

  • Databases

  • OpenGL

  • Networking

  • FFmpeg

  • AWS or other cloud technologies

  • ZeroMQ or similar message queue tools

  • 3D geometry and rendering
