MERITUS Talent is working with Europe's largest weapons systems manufacturer and integrator to recruit a C++ Software Engineer for their Bristol office on a contract basis. The role requires an active SC Clearance, and candidates must be sole British nationals.

Position: C++ Software Engineer - Bristol - Contract - 6 to 12 Months - GBP65 per hour via Umbrella - SC Clearance Required - Sole British Citizenship

Responsibilities:

This is a hands-on role involving the design and development of Command and Control architectures and instantiations for future products. Ideal for a proactive Software Engineer who takes initiative.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Strong background in software engineering, realization, and system-wide impact.
  • Experience in C++ development.
  • Collaborative approach to development, ability to work well in a team, and maintain momentum.
  • Experience across the entire software development lifecycle, from requirements engagement to automated testing and documentation.
  • Familiarity with new tools, techniques, and approaches to improve processes, efficiency, and sustainability.
  • Experience with other languages such as Ada and QT.
  • Knowledge of DDS Middleware and Real-Time Operating Systems.
  • Understanding of standards like DefStan 00-55, DO-178C, IEC61508, and restricted coding standards such as MISRA C++.
