MERITUS Talent is working with Europe's leading weapons manufacturer to recruit a C# Software Engineer for a 12-month contract (Inside IR35). Candidates must have active SC Clearance, and due to the sensitive nature of the work, a valid UK-only passport is required.

C# Software Engineer - 12 Months - INSIDE IR35 - BRISTOL - Up to £65ph - SC Clearance - Hybrid Working
Overview of Department:

WSSE plays a crucial role in developing weapon systems and system architectures. We support developments across the entire product lifecycle, integrating real products, models, and synthetic environments to provide visualizations, demonstrations, verification & validation, as well as training capabilities and support.

Responsibilities:
  1. Support the development of advanced defence systems from initial concept through to in-service support and training, utilizing simulation technologies including digital twins and emulators.
  2. Collaborate with Project Leads and Simulation Architects to design and develop simulation components representing weapon systems within synthetic environments using C#, C++, and industry-standard integrations.
  3. Work within a multidisciplinary agile team to develop simulations and representations of real equipment.
  4. Follow software development best practices, including configuration control, continuous integration, continuous delivery/deployment, unit testing, and test-driven development.
Skillset/Experience Required:
  • Proficiency in C# and C++
  • Ability to understand high-level systems and technical details
  • Excellent verbal, presentation, and written communication skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Windows and Linux operating systems
  • Knowledge of data links and interfaces such as 1553/1760 and Ethernet TCP/IP
  • Practical understanding of system integration principles and processes
