Job Description:

C#.Net Core Engineer | Power and Gas Commodities Trading/ Reg Reporting | £115,000- £120,000 + Strong Bonus | Hybrid

C#.Net Core engineer needed for a leading commodities trading house. As a C#.Net Core engineer, you’ll have the opportunity to work in the Front Office, developing bespoke applications that directly support commodities trading desks.

This is a high-impact role where your work will drive trading decisions across gas, power, emissions, and metals markets.

The client is a market leader within the commodities trading space and has been delivering consistent growth for over 25 years. They are now expanding their engineering team and looking for bright, motivated developers to join their collaborative environment. Their internally developed platforms are used by the firm’s service teams and licensed externally as SaaS to institutional clients in the commodities market.

This role will involve building tools and applications that support trade capture, risk, analytics, and regulatory reporting across exchange-traded and over-the-counter commodity derivatives.

These C#.Net roles offer the opportunity to work within a close-knit, agile team of 4–6 engineers on business-critical systems. You’ll have flexibility with a hybrid work setup and are welcome in the office as needed. The firm encourages a strong team culture, with regular monthly lunches and social events.

Remuneration

This C#.Net Core Front Office role is paying up to £115,000- £120,000 + a strong 20% bonus

Benefits: 25 days holiday, private medical and dental insurance, health coverage, and a strong pension scheme

Location: Hybrid working model, typically 3 days per week in-office

Office: Located near Old Street Station, London

Experience Needed

  • Strong experience developing front-to-back applications in C#.Net Core (WCF/WPF desirable)
  • Significant Oracle PL/SQL experience (SQL Server also considered)
  • Solid background in commodities trading or wider financial services
  • Familiarity with regulatory reporting frameworks such as MiFID TR, EMIR, MAS, Dodd-Frank, or CSA
  • Exposure to technologies such as FIX, RabbitMQ, Octopus, and VB.NET/WinForms is a plus
  • Agile experience, particularly Kanban
  • Able to work independently and within small collaborative teams
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-starter, adaptable and proactive
  • Previous exposure to Openlink Endur (desirable but not essential)
