Job summary

Adepto Technical Recruitment Ltd is seeking a skilled C&I Technician for an Upper Tier COMAH site in Manchester on a contract basis (minimum 6 months). The role involves maintenance, troubleshooting and improvements of control and instrumentation systems to ensure safe, reliable operation, within HSE standards and Permit to Work procedures.

Key duties include preventative and breakdown maintenance, fault-finding on PLCs and DCS, and supporting broader engineering activities.

Qualifications

• Essential: NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Electrical Installation or related discipline.
• CompEx Ex01-Ex06 (Desirable).

Responsibilities

• Carrying out planned preventative and breakdown maintenance on instrumentation and control systems within a chemical manufacturing environment.
• Diagnosing faults and carrying out corrective repairs to minimise downtime.
• Working in full compliance with site health, safety, and environmental standards, including the Permit to Work system.
• Managing work orders, preventive maintenance activities, and time recording through the Engineering Management System.
• Supporting wider engineering activities across the site as required.
• Fault-finding on PLCs, DCS.
• Maintenance across field instrumentation (level, temp, flow, pressure).
• Instrument calibrations (Analyser exposure - desirable)

We are looking for a skilled and motivated Controls & Instrumentation (C&I) Technician to join an Upper Tier COMAH site. This is a key role supporting the safe, reliable, and compliant operation of high-hazard process plant equipment.

You will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving, control and instrumentation systems, playing a vital part in keeping the site running efficiently and safely. Working within a small, close-knit engineering team, you'll contribute to both day-to-day maintenance and longer-term improvement projects (Installations).

• Carrying out planned preventative and breakdown maintenance on instrumentation and control systems within a chemical manufacturing environment
