Asset Support and Outage Excellence Team UK

The Asset Support and Outage Excellence Team UK plays a key role supporting power plant and gas storage projects, outages, and maintenance activities across Uniper's UK and Swedish assets. The role is high-profile in ensuring security of supply and delivering Uniper's business strategy to accelerate the energy transition. We are seeking a Controls & Instrumentation (C&I) Projects Engineer to fulfill a discipline-specific role. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a diverse mix of established and new power plant and storage technology on advanced power stations and facilities. It offers development and experience on a large scale supporting assets and teams across power generation and storage stations.

Your Responsibilities
  1. Bring a flexible, enthusiastic approach, demonstrate ownership, and work independently across UK and Swedish assets.
  2. Apply your knowledge in C&I engineering and maintenance to maximize resource utilization and station availability.
  3. Deliver projects and outages, manage stakeholders, and ensure compliance with HSSE and Quality standards.
  4. Perform fault finding, problem solving, and investigations to support performance KPIs.
  5. Lead project teams as required based on project complexity.
  6. Share best practices across sites through networking and benchmarking.
  7. Define scopes of work and develop technical and contract specifications.
  8. Ensure contractor QA/QC and promote a culture of health, safety, environmental awareness, and quality.
Your Profile
Essential
  • Higher National Diploma or Degree in Control & Instrumentation or related discipline.
  • Knowledge of engineering, project management, and maintenance practices.
  • Understanding of health, safety, and environmental legislation, supported by IOSH Managing Safely/NEBOSH certification or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of complex C&I process systems and regulations.
  • Ability to investigate issues, determine root causes, and apply engineering solutions.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, planning, and organizational skills.
  • Experience with project management tools and techniques.
  • Ability to manage contracts, health and safety, and technical issues during on/off-site work.
  • Full UK driving license.
Desirable
  • Functional Safety (IEC61508/61511) and Cyber Security certifications.
  • Experience with lean tools, fault finding, and troubleshooting DCS/PLC systems.
  • Knowledge of SAP systems.
  • Experience working in fast-paced environments.
