Job summary

Nuclear Restoration Services in Bridgwater is seeking a C&I/Electrical Project Engineer to support installation, commissioning and readiness of critical plant and instrumentation across multi-site operations.

You will diagnose faults, lead or contribute to testing, isolation, and small‑scale works, and work with internal teams and supply chain partners to ensure safe, compliant delivery.

Qualifications

• Strong background in C&I or Electrical engineering within process or industrial environments.
• Demonstrable experience in fault finding, diagnostics, and developing repair strategies.
• Ability to integrate plant systems and instrumentation into existing site infrastructure.
• A proactive, flexible approach with excellent collaboration and communication skills.
• Minimum NQF level 4 (HNC) or level 5 (HND) / SCQF level 7 or 8 in a relevant engineering or technical discipline.
• Degree in relevant engineering or technical discipline or working towards.

• Supporting waste retrieval operations, including pumped and vacuum recovery systems.

Are you ready to play a pivotal role in delivering one of the most complex and rewarding waste retrieval and processing programmes in the UK? This is your opportunity to be at the forefront of critical work that directly supports the safe management and long-term handling of Intermediate Level Waste (ILW), contributing to a project that truly matters.

Working across a diverse portfolio of activities from recovery and processing to commissioning and final implementation you’ll be part of a highly skilled team driving progress at pace. This is a hands‑on, technically engaging role where no two days are the same, and where your expertise will have a visible and lasting impact on site operations and project success.

What Will You Be Doing

As a C&I/Electrical Project Engineer, you’ll take on a varied and dynamic role, supporting key phases of project delivery from installation through to commissioning and operational readiness. You’ll be working across multiple activities, collaborating closely with internal teams and supply chain partners to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality outcomes.

You’ll be central to bringing critical equipment and systems to life integrating plant and instrumentation, supporting fault‑finding, and ensuring everything operates as intended within wider site systems. Your flexibility will be key, as you’ll be trusted to step beyond traditional discipline boundaries where appropriate, contributing wherever your skills add the most value.

Who Are We Looking For

You’re an experienced C&I/Electrical Engineer who thrives in a project environment and enjoys solving complex technical challenges. You bring proven experience working with process plant and equipment, with a strong ability to diagnose faults, develop solutions, and see them through to implementation.

Confident and collaborative, you’re comfortable engaging with system owners and stakeholders to ensure successful integration of plant into operational environments. You’re also adaptable ready to take on a range of responsibilities and contribute across disciplines where needed, always operating within your competence and qualifications.
