Job Opportunity: Principal Engineer (C&I/Commissioning) - 12-Month Onsite Contract at BAE Systems, Barrow-in-Furness

Duration: 12 months

About the Role:

Responsible for designing, installing, and testing hardware to develop a plant simulation system, crucial for testing onboard control systems before deployment. Focus on electrical installation, testing, and commissioning of control systems and test harnesses.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop hardware design solutions meeting project milestones.
  • Manage requirements and acceptance criteria, ensuring integration.
  • Produce documentation for design reviews, including specifications and diagrams.
  • Install systems per design documentation, adhering to safety standards.
  • Commission and verify installed test harnesses.
  • Ensure compliance with contractual and safety standards.

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Experience in electronic, electrical, hardware, or software engineering within C&I disciplines.
  • Strong understanding of system design and engineering principles.
  • Knowledge of engineering lifecycle processes.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Understanding of electrical, mechanical, and software disciplines.
  • Ability to produce and interpret technical documentation.
  • Experience with Siemens control systems.
  • Background in Defence, Automation, or Factory industries.
  • Familiarity with electrical safe work practices.

Working Hours:

Core hours with flexibility, 4 days per week.
