Job summary

The Crown & Garter, part of Honesty Group, is seeking a friendly Front of House Assistant to deliver warm, genuine hospitality in our pub, restaurant and coffee shop. You’ll help create a welcoming experience for every guest.

Based in Hungerford, England, you will work across the pub, restaurant and coffee shop, with full training and opportunities to progress within the group.

Qualifications

• Hospitality experience welcomed but not required.
• Willing to work across pub/restaurant and coffee shop.

Responsibilities

• Serve customers in pub/restaurant and coffee shop.
• Prepare food and drinks to food-safety standards.
• Open/close as keyholder and set up service.
• Take deliveries, rotate stock and perform temperature checks.
• Answer phone enquiries and take orders.
• Clear and reset tables, polish cutlery and keep service areas tidy.
• Support end-of-day tasks including cleaning and cashing up.

Front of House Assistant – The Crown & Garter (Pub, Restaurant & Coffee Shop)

The Role

We’re looking for a friendly Front of House Assistant to work mainly in the pub/restaurant, with support in the coffee shop when needed. You’ll help deliver great service and create a welcoming experience for every guest.

What You’ll Do

• Serve customers in the pub/restaurant and coffee shop
• Prepare food and drinks in line with food safety standards
• Open/close as a keyholder and help set up for service
• Take deliveries, rotate stock and complete temperature checks
• Answer phone enquiries and take orders
• Clear and reset tables, polish cutlery and keep service areas tidy
• Support end-of-day tasks (cleaning, waste logs, cashing up, lock up)

What We’re Looking For

• Friendly, reliable and customer-focused
• Comfortable in a busy, hands-on front-of-house role
• Happy supporting both pub/restaurant and coffee shop service
• Previous hospitality experience helpful but not essential (full training provided)
