Job summary

Driver Hire Huddersfield are seeking Category C+E (Class 1) HGV drivers to join our team across the Kirklees area, including Huddersfield, Brighouse, Holmfirth and Meltham. Roles are temporary/ad-hoc, with some nights out and potential for temp-perm or full-time opportunities.

Responsibilities include trunking with curtainsiders/flatbeds, loading checks, and ensuring safe delivery. Must hold Cat C+E, CPC and Tachograph Card, plus Right to Work in the UK.

Qualifications

• Must hold Cat C+E (Class 1) UK driving licence.
• Must have current CPC and Digital Tachograph Card.
• Must be able to demonstrate Right to Work in the UK.
• No more than 6 points on licence for minor offences.

Responsibilities

• Trunking work with curtainsiders, flatbeds and tail lift experience.
• Perform vehicle and load checks before setting off.
• Ensure safe delivery of cargo to destination.
• Liaise with customers at point of delivery.
• Some nights out may be required; day work available if needed.

Job description

Driver Hire Huddersfield are currently looking for Category C+E - Class 1 HGV Drivers to join us working alongside prestigious clients based throughout the Kirklees areas of Huddersfield, Brighouse, Holmfirth and Meltham. These roles are for temporary and ad-hoc bookings assisting Clients covering holiday and sickness and increase in business demands. Most Clients are looking for a minimum 1 years' worth of experience on this entitlement. Some roles will inevitably become temp-perm or full time.

These roles may also include non-driving duties such as loading and unloading the vehicle; therefore candidates should be comfortable with doing some lifting and a good demonstration of safe loading. Experience is highly regarded but not wholly essential.

This position would be perfect for someone who has a flexible approach to work and enjoys variety.

You can be made available to start following successful reference checks. The application process can be virtually completed online but will involve arranging an appointment to come in to our local office to complete any relevant checks.

Role
