Job summary

Manpower UK is seeking a Software Engineer (C# / Desktop) in Royston to join a collaborative R&D team. You will develop Windows-based desktop software that interacts with sophisticated hardware, tackling challenging engineering problems and contributing to long-term product development.

Strong C# skills and desktop experience are essential; collaboration across hardware, systems and software disciplines is required.

Qualifications

• Strong commercial experience building desktop applications with C#.
• Good understanding of object-oriented design and software architecture.
• Experience developing multithreaded, concurrent, or asynchronous software.
• Experience designing software interfaces, APIs and maintainable structures.
• Experience in engineering, scientific, instrumentation or hardware-oriented environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain Windows desktop software using C# and Microsoft technologies.
• Contribute to software architecture, design and long-term technical direction.
• Build robust, maintainable code using OO design and patterns.
• Create software that interfaces with hardware and engineering systems.
• Collaborate in an Agile team to deliver new functionality and enhancements.
