Job description

The Role: My client is seeking experienced Senior / Principal C&I Engineers to join their growing Net Zero Energy Business. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on a variety of projects, from small-scale assignments to overseeing multi-discipline project teams. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering first-class engineering solutions, managing client relationships, and mentoring junior engineers.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lead the technical delivery of C&I engineering projects.
  2. Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to develop integrated design solutions.
  3. Manage client relationships, providing expert technical advice and guidance.
  4. Ensure high-quality project deliverables, from concept through to detailed design.
  5. Oversee and mentor junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous development.

Skills & Experience Required:

  1. Degree in Control, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, or a related field.
  2. Chartered Engineer status or actively working towards CEng accreditation.
  3. Extensive experience in C&I design across various project stages (concept, FEED, and detailed design).
  4. Strong knowledge of relevant national and international standards (BS, IEC, ISA, ISO).
  5. Expertise in developing C&I deliverables, including philosophies, specifications, datasheets, and calculations.
  6. Experience in selecting and specifying process instrumentation and control systems.
  7. Understanding of Operational Technology (OT) system architectures, control philosophies, and alarm management.
  8. Knowledge of Functional Safety, Cyber Security, and Hazardous Area Protection concepts (DSEAR, Fire & Gas Detection Systems).
  9. Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to manage and motivate teams.
  10. Commercial awareness, including project timelines, cost estimation, and change control.

Location: Central Scotland (Glasgow, Edinburgh, and Bellshill), Bristol, or Stockton – Hybrid and flexible working options available, including part-time opportunities.
