Amazon is looking for a talented Vendor Manager/Buyer with a background in buying/vendor management, category management, or account development to join our Amazon Fresh business.

The Vendor Manager will be responsible for leading a product category, developing and executing a strategic category plan, managing financials through pricing, cost improvements, and inventory management. They should be experienced in stakeholder management and negotiations, capable of influencing vendors during complex discussions with data and insights to achieve favorable outcomes. The role involves coordinating buying activities with the Inventory Planning team to acquire inventory cost-effectively and efficiently, ensuring high product quality. Additionally, they will coordinate in-store activities with Marketing and Merchandising, oversee buying system data input and integrity, and monitor KPIs for business operations. They will work with management on buying strategies, market trend assessments, pricing, and product selection.

This role supports the Amazon Fresh Business in the UK and is based out of either the London (LHR 16) or Manchester (MAN 11) office.

Key job responsibilities
  1. Act as the ‘business owner’ for their categories, managing a full P&L, including planning, forecasting, and driving growth to meet revenue and profitability goals.
  2. Set goals and strategic direction for vendors and initiatives, ensuring alignment with broader business objectives.
  3. Generate and implement innovative ideas to improve, grow, and scale categories.
  4. Establish and develop strategic relationships with key vendors, leveraging data and programs to negotiate favorable outcomes and representing Amazon in vendor meetings.
  5. Understand seasonality and global trends/events, and monitor industry and competitor developments.
  6. Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as marketing, merchandising, and inventory to ensure flawless process execution within tight deadlines.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Relevant experience in Retail/Ecommerce, including buying and negotiation in FMCG categories
  • Strong analytical skills and comfort with numbers
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including writing and speaking
  • Proven ownership and results-driven mindset

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience in Retail/Ecommerce environment
  • Experience owning AVN/JBP negotiations with successful outcomes
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Skilled in coordinating complex projects with technical teams
  • Broad commercial awareness in a fast-paced setting
  • Advanced Excel/SQL skills are a plus
