We’re working with a leading food importer and manufacturer to find a dynamic, detail-driven Buying Assistant to join their growing team. This is a fantastic opportunity to step into a role where no two days are the same—you’ll be right at the heart of the action, working with international suppliers, managing stock flow, and ensuring quality products reach customers across the UK.

Key Responsibilities:

• Help manage the import of goods from Europe to the UK
• Arrange customs clearance with freight agents
• Understand transport terms (Incoterms)
• Use Excel and BC systems for stock control and ordering
• Plan ahead to ensure products are always available
• Purchase stock as needed
• Process purchase orders using BC system
• Work with European suppliers – build relationships and negotiate where needed

What We’re Looking For:

• A strong communicator – both spoken and written
• Confident using computers, especially Excel (XL) and BC systems
• Proactive, reliable, and focused on quality
• Experience working in food manufacturing is a plus
