We are currently recruiting on behalf of a well-established structural steel contractor, who is seeking an experienced Buyer to join their team based in London.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a background in procurement within the structural steel or construction industry to take a key role in managing supplier relationships and ensuring timely delivery of materials across a variety of exciting projects.

Key Responsibilities:

Procuring structural steel, consumables, and associated materials in line with project requirements

Negotiating prices, lead times, and terms with suppliers to secure the best value

Raising and managing purchase orders, monitoring delivery progress

Liaising with internal teams including estimating, design, and site to coordinate material requirements

Maintaining supplier records and evaluating supplier performance

Ensuring compliance with internal processes and industry standards

Requirements:

Proven experience in a buying/procurement role within structural steel or construction

Strong negotiation and communication skills

Ability to manage multiple orders and deadlines efficiently

Good working knowledge of procurement systems and Microsoft Office

A proactive and detail-oriented approach to work

Salary & Benefits:

£35,000 - £45,000 per annum (depending on experience)

Permanent, full-time role
