Job summary

Nicholas Associates in the West Midlands is seeking an experienced Buyer to join a reputable groundworks and civil engineering contractor. The role focuses on managing supplier relationships, negotiating prices, and procuring project materials for site teams.

You will be responsible for ensuring material quality and cost efficiency while maintaining strong collaboration with on-site teams and stakeholders. The position offers an on-site working arrangement with opportunities across UK projects.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Buyer with a groundworks or civil engineering contractor.
• Knowledge of groundworks materials, aggregates, asphalt, concreate and drainage.
• Strong negotiation skills and ability to build effective working relationships with suppliers and the site teams.
• Computer literate including Microsoft Office and confident in managing and working with large data sets.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
