Salary: £35,000 – £45,000 per annum, depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.

Job Introduction

The Commercial Procurement team is repositioning itself to become a strategic enabler for the BBC. The Buyer supports the delivery of procurement plans, analyses data to find insights, and ensures compliance to corporate policies. The role ensures all contracts are maintained to BBC standards and supplier relationships are managed in line with regulations. Utilising appropriate sourcing approaches for suppliers to drive value and mitigate risk. All governance processes are successfully navigated ensuring all clearances are granted and key stakeholders are supportive.

This role sits within the divisional procurement team, partnering with CCOG (Chief Customer Operating Group) which is made up of marketing (media, branding and creative) + audiences and revenue management, together with all things BBC News.

Main Responsibilities

• Delivering procurement projects against plans within category from initiation to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and budget.
• Analysing market trends and procurement data to identify cost-saving opportunities, and areas for improvement.
• Assisting in the execution of procurement processes, including the preparation of requests for proposals (RFPs), and other procurement documents.
• Preparing reports and summaries of procurement activities, providing insights and recommendations to support decision-making.
• Establishing the infrastructure and the processes to monitor procurement performance metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs).
• Ensuring all documentation is compliant with corporate policies and public procurement regulations.
• Ensuring compliance with corporate policies and public procurement regulations in all procurement activities.
• Acting under own initiative and taking responsibility for own professional development
