Exciting opportunity with a leading global construction business that specialises in the Pharmaceutical and Biotechnology industries.

They're looking for a Senior Buyer to join the EMEA team, reporting directly to the Head of Procurement UK/EMEA Lead Procurement, ideally based within a commutable distance to their UK head office in South Manchester.

The Senior Buyer is responsible for the end-to-end management of the procurement cycle for their assigned packages in accordance with project-specific requirements. This includes pre-order procurement activities and post-order award management.

Assigned packages will include, but are not limited to, various procurement activities across different projects in the region.

Other responsibilities include:

• Act as a senior representative of the procurement department and ensure procurement procedures are followed.
• Represent the company to clients and serve as a key interface for client procurement on assigned projects.
• Research and qualify new contractors and vendors as needed.
• Evaluate existing suppliers periodically.
• Support project initiation by developing the procurement execution plan.
• Manage the tender process for assigned packages, from scope receipt through enquiry, bid evaluation, and award recommendation.
• Conduct detailed commercial evaluations of supplier proposals.

Applicants should have:

• At least 5 years of experience in project procurement within construction.
• Knowledge of trade contracts and equipment procurement.
• MCIPS qualification or working towards it is desirable.
