Job description

We are currently looking for a Buyer to join our PrettyLittleThing team, focusing on one of our largest clothing departments within the brand. In this role, you'll be responsible for the daily operations of the department, ensuring all products are delivered to a high standard for our customers. As a Buyer, you will collaborate with the senior buying team and our experienced Buying Director, working closely with Design and Merchandising teams, managing open-to-buy, and undertaking trips to Europe and the Far East.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
  1. Developing products and propositions as the business expands.
  2. Ensuring propositions support international growth and understanding the requirements of new markets.
  3. Collaborating with the Senior Leadership team to influence strategic planning.
  4. Communicating effectively with junior, assistant, and trainee buyers across the department.
  5. Monitoring stock levels on individual lines.
  6. Reporting key information during trading meetings to senior management.
  7. Generating ideas for promotions and markdown strategies.
  8. Managing stock levels according to KPIs and open-to-buy plans.
  9. Responding to competitor analysis and market trends.
  10. Completing buying trips within the UK and internationally as needed.
  11. Working with marketing and eCommerce teams to maximize sales and ensure alignment with strategic goals.

You should have:

  • Previous experience as a Buyer or Junior Buyer.
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and workloads effectively.
  • Strong industry knowledge and a keen eye for trends and commercial opportunities.
  • Experience in supporting and developing team members.
  • A positive, energetic approach that influences team morale.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills at all levels.
  • Willingness to travel as required.
