Buyer / Planner - Are you an experienced Buyer with good negotiation skills and excellent attention to detail?

We are looking for a Buyer / Planner for our client, a leading distributor of chemicals. As a key member of the UK Purchasing department, you will be responsible for buying and sourcing materials for customers.

Role responsibilities include…

• Developing and maintaining relationships with suppliers both in person and over the phone.
• Negotiating with suppliers to ensure the best price and payment terms.
• Managing stock levels to meet company and customer expectations.
• Onboarding new suppliers and products in line with company standards.
• Managing slow-moving stock and quarantine materials proactively.
• Attending sales meetings to promote materials and provide market information.

Your background…

The Buyer / Planner role involves developing supplier relationships, negotiating, managing stock, and attending sales meetings.

Must have:

• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to work under pressure
• Proficiency with MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
• Good organizational skills and ability to work independently and in a team
• Buying experience in a distribution environment

Bonus to have:

• Negotiation experience
• CIPS Qualification
• Chemistry/Science degree
