Buyer - Own Label Grocery

Salary: Up to £50,000 DOE

Location: North London

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Buyer / Sourcing Manager to join a leading national retailer within their Commercial team in North London.

The successful candidate will be responsible for driving the buying strategy to ensure growth in sales and profitability, while maintaining a strategic focus for ongoing development within the own brand buying department. Key responsibilities include:

• Taking full ownership of the commercial and sourcing strategy for COGS in own brand categories.
• Building and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers.
• Understanding key cost drivers and identifying opportunities for improvement.
• Negotiating cost price changes and ensuring timely communication.
• Collaborating with suppliers to reduce COGS and expand product ranges.
• Maintaining high levels of supplier service and internal collaboration to resolve issues.
• Seeking new suppliers to improve commercial offers or supply new products/categories.
• Analyzing sales data to plan future product lines.
• Working with NPD teams to ensure product quality.
• Presenting reports and trend analyses to senior management.

Key requirements:

• Proven experience in Buying, Procurement, or Sourcing within a fast-moving FMCG/Food environment.
• Strong negotiation and influencing skills.
• Ability to adapt quickly in a dynamic retail market.
• Excellent communication skills across all levels.
• Proficiency in MS Office applications.
