As Buyer/Trading Manager, you’ll report directly to the Trading Controller for a market-leading international Food and FMCG business.

My client has ambitious growth plans and is looking to recruit two Buyers, one for their chilled category and one for their frozen category. They are strong advocates of personal development and offer a collaborative team environment.

Day-to-day, you’ll be responsible for developing, implementing, and reviewing your category strategy to deliver efficiency and exciting ranges at the best price and profitability for the business. A major part of the role will be to build strong relationships with suppliers and other key stakeholders to ensure category delivery while keeping all stakeholders updated.

You’ll need buying experience gained within a UK food retail and/or UK food wholesale environment or similar.

Along with proven experience in negotiating, managing a supplier base, and achieving results, you’ll need knowledge of pricing and promotional management, strong analytical, numerical, and forecasting skills, and stakeholder management abilities.

This is a hybrid role with a minimum of 2 days in the office each week, with potential occasional travel to suppliers.
