Our client is a leading company in the construction and civil engineering sector, known for delivering high-quality projects across Aberdeen and the Highlands and Islands. They are currently seeking a motivated and experienced Buyer to join their team on a fixed-term 10-month contract.
Key Responsibilities:
Source and procure materials, equipment, and services required for projects.
Negotiate contracts and terms with suppliers to ensure cost-effective purchasing.
Maintain and manage supplier relationships to ensure timely delivery and quality standards.
Monitor market trends and adjust procurement strategies accordingly.
Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to understand project requirements and timelines.
Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
Requirements:
Proven experience as a Buyer in the construction or civil engineering industry is desirable.
Strong negotiation and communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
Proficient in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Excellent organisational and problem-solving abilities.
Knowledge of market trends and supply chain management.
