Job description

Our client is a leading company in the construction and civil engineering sector, known for delivering high-quality projects across Aberdeen and the Highlands and Islands. They are currently seeking a motivated and experienced Buyer to join their team on a fixed-term 10-month contract.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Source and procure materials, equipment, and services required for projects.
  • Negotiate contracts and terms with suppliers to ensure cost-effective purchasing.
  • Maintain and manage supplier relationships to ensure timely delivery and quality standards.
  • Monitor market trends and adjust procurement strategies accordingly.
  • Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to understand project requirements and timelines.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Buyer in the construction or civil engineering industry is desirable.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Proficient in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent organisational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Knowledge of market trends and supply chain management.
