Anord Mardix, a Flex company, manufactures switchgear and related products for installation in mission-critical and live commercial buildings, including data centres and headquarters of major companies worldwide.

We are looking to add a Buyer - Direct based in Kendal. Reporting to the Procurement Lead, the Buyer will coordinate activities related to procuring direct materials, components, and equipment.

What a typical day looks like:

• Maintaining relations with suppliers to obtain product information such as price, availability, and delivery schedules
• Placing orders for raw materials and purchased parts based on production requirements
• Checking and modifying purchase orders according to changes in the production plan
• Regularly checking stock levels to avoid overstocking
• Minimizing obsolescence risks via weekly obsolete report reviews
• Communicating with freight forwarders and warehouses, organizing transportation as needed
• Checking inventory of critical materials and ensuring timely availability for production
• Reviewing requisitions and MRP outputs, rescheduling or canceling orders as necessary
• Maintaining procurement records including purchase items, costs, and inventories
• Managing supplier expectations regarding price, delivery, and quality, escalating issues when needed

The experience we’re looking for:

• Typically 2-4 years of procurement experience
• Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel, and ERP software
• Ability to interpret business, technical, and regulatory documents
• Strong report writing and presentation skills
• Experience with calculations involving discounts, interest, and percentages, and applying basic algebra and geometry
• Ability to follow instructions and solve problems involving multiple variables
