Job description

What You'll Do:

1. Source and purchase materials and components to support production
2. Maintain accurate purchase orders and delivery schedules using Microsoft Dynamics NAV
3. Run weekly MRP processes and manage inventory levels effectively
4. Liaise with suppliers, production, customer service, and warehouse teams
5. Control and manage subcontract free-issue items
6. Ensure compliance with quality, cost, and on-time delivery standards
7. Keep MRP/ERP data up to date with accurate lead times and pricing

What We're Looking For:

1. Proven experience as a Buyer in a manufacturing environment
2. Knowledge of subcontract and direct procurement, particularly fabricated or machined components (metal & plastic)
3. Strong MRP/ERP skills - ideally Microsoft Dynamics NAV
4. Confident reading and understanding technical drawings/specifications
5. Advanced Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables)
6. Commercial awareness with a track record of delivering cost savings
7. Strong negotiation, organisation, and supplier relationship skills
8. CIPS qualification is a plus, but not essential
