Overview

Buyer, Witney — £28,500-£32,500

We are looking for an experienced, highly organised, detail driven Buyer, with a passion for procurement and supplier management.

Our clients are adding to their small but fast paced purchasing team; this role is Monday - Thursday 8.30-5 and Friday 8.30-4.30. Salary £28,500-£32,500 dependent on experience.

The company is a market leading manufacturer within the UK and they have strategic partnerships with other key global suppliers. In this role, you will source products, negotiate with suppliers for best pricing and maintain efficient stock flow to meet customer demand.

You should be a positive person, with strong numerical, analytical, interpersonal and negotiation skills, who has an excellent ability to organise whilst working with accuracy. If you are CIPS qualified, then that would be an advantage.

Buyer Key Responsibilities (Full job description available on request)

  • Create purchase orders and track deliveries to ensure on-time receipt of goods.
  • Source the best suppliers based on cost, quality, service, and reliability, negotiate contracts and then monitor performance and implement improvement plans where needed.
  • Respond to customer and supplier enquiries in a timely and professional manner. Resolving problems proactively.
  • Attend supplier meetings (onsite and at head office) to maintain and improve supplier relationships.
  • Analyse customer purchasing trends to predict buying patterns and work with other departments to understand buying needs and specifications.
  • Maintain MRP system with new supplier and parts details and manage stock levels against new orders.
  • Liaise with the transport team and couriers to meet all logistics requirements.
