Card Factory in Wakefield is seeking an experienced Buyer to focus on card and gift wrap. You will be based onsite at our Head Office, building and managing customer-focused product ranges, taking ownership of the range plan to deliver commercially sound selections that meet the category strategy.

In a fast-paced commercial environment, you will own the P&L for your categories, drive sales and profits, create clear range briefs with Design and Marketing, and build strong supplier relationships

Qualifikationen

• Previous buying experience delivering sales and profit growth in a retail environment.
• Buying background in Home, Gifting, Occasion or Fashion; greeting cards industry preferred.
• Skilled in supplier management, critical path management and cross-functional collaboration.
• Excellent communication and commercial decision-making skills.
• Ambitious, adaptable and proficient with Microsoft Office; interest in people management.

We are currently looking for an experienced Buyer to join the team at cardfactory, focusing on card and gift wrap. This is a fast paced, fun environment where you will help our customers to celebrate life's moments as part of a team who deliver new and exciting product ranges.

In this role, you’ll play an integral role in a fast-paced commercial environment. You will build and manage your own customer focused product ranges, taking ownership of the range plan to deliver commercially sound product selections that meet the requirements of the category strategy. Your new and exciting product ranges will meet customer needs and help deliver financial targets.

You will be based onsite at our Head office in Wakefield, the demands of this role require you to be onsite around 3 days per week with the remainder from home.

Main Responsibilities

• Identify and deliver commercially viable new product opportunities that meet customer needs.
• Own the P&L for your categories, driving sales, profit and strategic range planning.
• Create clear range briefs and work collaboratively with Design, Marketing and other key teams.
• Build strong supplier relationships, leading negotiations and ensuring quality, sustainability and compliance.
• Manage the product development process and Critical Path from concept to launch, addressing risks proactively.

The Ideal Candidate

• Previous buying experience delivering sales and profit growth within a product‑led retail environment.
• Buying background in Home, Gifting, Occasion or Fashion preferred, with a strong creative eye for product. Experience working within the Greeting Cards industry would be preferred.
• Skilled in supplier management, critical path management and cross‑functional collaboration.
• Excellent communication, relationship‑building and commercial decision‑making skills.
• Ambitious, adaptable and confident with Microsoft Office, with desire to develop people management skills.
