Job summary

PX Group is seeking a Buyer for a 12 month Fixed Term contract based in Stockton-on-Tees. You will join a high-performance procurement team, handling sourcing and supplier activities to support safe plant operations.

You’ll lead RFQs, tenders and contract negotiations, ensuring compliance with px policies and relevant legislation while receiving coaching and development throughout the role.

Qualifications

• Qualified or working towards CIPS.
• Previous procurement experience.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Email.
• Working knowledge of ERP systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead RFQs, evaluating supplier quotations against requirements and liaising with stakeholders.
• Conduct tender activities and commercial bid evaluations and recommend supplier selection & award.
• Review terms and conditions and contract documentation, support negotiations to meet requirements.
• Develop, implement and maintain supplier contracts in px standard forms of contract.
• Ensure procurement activities comply with px policies and laws.

Our Head Office is based in Stockton-on-Tees and is home to our administrative support teams, engineering & maintenance support team & energy services teams. The Offices are located on the river Tees with close access to walks, shops and restaurants.

The Opportunity

We are now recruiting for a Buyer on a 12 month Fixed Term contract basis.

The Buyer will work as part of a high-performing, customer-focused Procurement team, managing sourcing and supplier activities to support safe and reliable plant operations. The role will support operational & maintenance activities, planned outages & shutdowns through the timely procurement of critical goods and services.

You’ll be supported with personalised on the job training, coaching, mentoring and twice-yearly development and performance reviews to help maintain & develop your contributions and competence.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead RFQs, evaluating supplier quotations against commercial requirements and liaising with stakeholders to support the evaluation of technical & operational requirements
• Conduct tender activities and commercial bid evaluations on low-medium risk/value requirements, and make recommendations for supplier selection & award
• Review supplier terms and conditions and contract documentation, identifying commercial risks and non-standard clauses, and support or lead negotiations to ensure contracts meet business and procurement requirements.
• Develop, implement and maintain low-med risk/value supplier contracts on px standard forms of contract in accordance with stakeholder requirements
• Ensure all procurement activities comply with px procurement policies, procedures, delegated authorities, and any relevant laws and legislation
• Use px procurement systems to manage the P2P process, supplier information and procurement data accurately and efficiently

Minimum Requirements

• Qualified or working towards CIPS, or relevant industry experience
• Previous experience in a procurement role
• Proficient in Microsoft Office: word, excel, email
• Appreciation & application of data management systems
• Working knowledge of terms and conditions and forms of contract
• Confident using ERP systems (SAPbyD knowledge beneficial)
