Job description

Are you a skilled Buyer with a passion for precision, quality, and efficiency? We're looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Buyer to support our clients production team and ensure the seamless flow of materials that power world-class products.

This is a permanent, full-time position, office based near Stamford. Working Monday to Friday, you will work a half day on the Friday following compressed hours Monday to Thursday. The salary and benefits package on offer is very competitive, and includes 28 days holiday, plus bank holidays, enhanced pension and a salary upto 45000.



The Role

As a Buyer, you'll be responsible for sourcing raw materials, components, and services to support manufacturing operations. You'll work closely with production, engineering, and planning teams to ensure timely procurement while maintaining cost-effectiveness and quality standards.



Key Responsibilities

  • Procure materials, components, and services in line with production needs.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to forecast and plan material requirements.
  • Evaluate and negotiate with suppliers to secure optimal pricing and terms.
  • Monitor supplier performance and resolve delivery or quality issues.
  • Maintain accurate records and update ERP/MRP systems.
  • Support inventory management and cost-reduction initiatives.
  • Identify and qualify new suppliers to enhance supply chain performance.


What We're Looking For

  • 2-5 years of buying or procurement experience in a manufacturing environment (CIPS preferred).
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems (SAP is a plus).
  • Advanced Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUPs).
  • Analytical mindset with excellent problem-solving abilities.
  • Knowledge of Lean or Continuous Improvement methodologies is advantageous.
