Buyer
Bridgnorth
Temporary / 2-3 months / possibility of becoming permanent
£15 - £20 per hour (DOE)
Monday-Friday - 9am-5pm (flexi-time available)

Prince are working with a well-established manufacturing business based in Bridgnorth who are looking for a Buyer to join them on a temporary basis for a few months to support during some internal movement. There is also a possibility that it could become a permanent role. The Buyer will play a key role in supporting the business' Procurement function.

Responsibilities and Duties:
  1. Identify, assess, and select suppliers to ensure high-quality and reliable service
  2. Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with suppliers to achieve the best value
  3. Oversee the purchasing process, including placing and managing purchase orders
  4. Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to optimize performance
  5. Address and resolve any supplier-related issues promptly and effectively
  6. Monitor and evaluate vendor performance to ensure continuous improvement
  7. Collaborate closely with departments such as Maintenance and Operations to align purchasing decisions with business needs
  8. Ensure all purchasing activities comply with company policies and procedures
  9. Verify vendor compliance with required accreditation certifications
  10. Adhere to established Purchasing Policies, Procedures, and deadlines
  11. Continuously develop skills and expertise through training programs
  12. Conduct regular supplier evaluations and manage supplier relationships proactively
  13. Ensure contractor services meet compliance standards and company requirements
  14. Provide support to Engineering teams throughout project lifecycles
  15. Resolve purchasing challenges, including late deliveries or incorrect orders
  16. Assist the Purchasing Manager with additional tasks as required
Skills and Experience:
  1. Experience in a Buyer / Procurement / Purchasing role
  2. Strong Negotiation skills and experience in negotiating with suppliers
  3. CIPS qualification would be ideal but not essential
