This is an exciting opportunity to join the Kongsberg Maritime business in Dunfermline, to be part of a company that delivers mission-critical products to Naval and Commercial Customers.

In this role as Buyer – Stabilisers and Naval Steering Gear, you will be responsible for planning and executing all procurement activities as defined for the specific products, including sourcing, operations, and supplier management to meet our Customers’ requirements. Your ability to negotiate, build supplier relationships, and ensure the timely delivery of quality materials will directly contribute to our operational success.

To further strengthen the existing team, we are looking for a Buyer with the attributes of Reliable, Collaborative, Determined, and Innovative.

What you will be doing

  • Procurement of products in ERP, including managing the procurement process from demand to purchase orders and delivery of parts.
  • Managing suppliers' delivery, quality, and cost performance where designated.
  • Placing purchase orders in our ERP system, ensuring data integrity and process management.
  • Supporting sourcing requirements, including finding new suppliers, RFQs, and supplier contracts.
  • Collaborating with operations, planning, logistics, and quality teams to achieve business targets, including managing and resolving quality and delivery issues from suppliers.

We think you should have

  • A degree qualification, ideally MCIPS or equivalent.
  • 3-5 years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience with purchasing and supply chain management preferred.
  • A global outlook and openness to different challenges, cultures, and ways of working.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills in English.

  • Use a methodical and systematic approach, plan ahead, define priorities, and allocate resources effectively.
