About the Role:
An exciting opportunity has arisen with one of our trusted clients for an experienced Purchasing & Inventory Specialist. This role is ideal for a proactive individual who can manage procurement and forecasting activities for both direct and indirect materials, ensuring optimal inventory levels to meet production and customer demands.
Key Responsibilities:
Raise and manage purchase orders for materials to support production schedules
Provide accurate forecasts and schedules to suppliers to maintain consistent supply
Monitor and manage supplier performance, including on-time delivery metrics
Actively manage open orders in line with customer demand and business cashflow
Investigate and resolve Goods-In discrepancies in collaboration with Logistics and Accounts
Expedite material shortages and manage inventory levels to minimise excess stock
Negotiate pricing and contractual terms with suppliers to support cost reduction goals
Identify and onboard new suppliers as needed, maintaining strong supplier relationships
Implement supply chain best practices, including Kanban or direct line feed systems
Support continuous improvement initiatives in procurement and supply processes

About You:
Essential:
A-Level qualification or equivalent
1–3 years' experience in a similar purchasing/inventory management role
Proven ability to manage budgets and procurement processes
Experience with ERP systems
Strong numerical and negotiation skills
Working towards or already CIPS certified
Prior experience in implementing supply chain process improvements
