As a Buyer reporting into the Supply Chain Manager, you’ll lead the buying of raw materials, packaging, and merchandise while maintaining robust service levels through supplier management.

My client has a long-term growth plan and is employee-owned, offering many perks including an annual profit share (10% last year, 20% previous year), a 20% business performance award (potentially adding up to £3,000 tax-free), a 10% pension contribution (1% from employee), and other benefits.

This Buyer role provides the opportunity to work within the Supply Chain team responsible for purchasing, planning, warehousing, and packaging technology for their directly manufactured products.

Daily responsibilities include negotiating with suppliers, monitoring key markets, leading project meetings, supporting NPD, collaborating with stakeholders, and managing a direct report.

This role is suitable for someone with food manufacturing experience, particularly with raw materials purchase or stock control, and may be suitable for roles like Junior Buyer, Buying Assistant, or Procurement Admin who can lead negotiations, demonstrate commercial awareness, and possess advanced IT skills, including Microsoft Office and ideally MRP systems.

The team typically spends three days per week on-site with the remaining time working from home.
