The Role
This role offers an exciting opportunity to provide procurement, contract formulation and management, as well as supplier relationship management expertise across a programme of Airfield works spanning across all three airports and New Construction Framework Procurement to help deliver major planned construction.
The role involves supporting the Senior Buyer in procuring frameworks, call-off contracts, and materials. It requires a solid understanding of tendering processes within the construction sector and proven experience in managing supplier relationships. Familiarity with electronic sourcing platforms such as SAP Ariba and Cemar is important and you will ideally have experience with NEC4 contracts, though this is not essential. You will be expected to conduct comprehensive reviews of submitted tenders and provide well-informed recommendations for contract awards.
Travel between different MAG airport locations may be required for this role.
What Will Make You Successful In This Role
You have at least five years of demonstrable procurement experience, with a solid track record of procuring goods and services. Your knowledge of EU procurement methodologies and the Procurement Act 2023 ensures you are well-versed in relevant regulations and practices. A proactive and commercially astute professional, you have excellent networking capabilities, combined with strong stakeholder engagement and supplier relationship management skills.
You will bring valuable experience from a construction-related environment where health, safety, and environmental considerations are a top priority. With a strong background in the construction industry, you have developed and implemented main and sub-contracting strategies, working closely with key stakeholders and using your in-depth understanding of the construction market to influence outcomes effectively.
You are confident using electronic sourcing platforms such as SAP, Ariba, and Cemar. Ideally, you are qualified to degree level and are working towards or already hold MCIPS chartership.
