You will ensure the business adopts a proactive and consistent approach to sourcing and contract management, maximizing value for money, improving quality of supply, generating cost savings, and enhancing social value.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:

We procure items such as fire engines, critical IT systems & infrastructure, bars and retail units, large construction projects, and fun marketing campaigns, including Christmas and celebrity visits.

As a buyer, you will be responsible for procuring various commodities and services via the electronic tendering portal (Jaggaer). Your responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining an engaging approach, working with internal and external stakeholders on procurement and contract management across categories including IT, Commercial, Corporate Services, Infrastructure, and Operations.
  • Carrying out all contracting activities in line with procurement policies and competition law, managing end-to-end procurements from planning to supplier performance.
  • Developing and implementing procurement strategies for renewing existing contracts and establishing new framework agreements, focusing on sustainability and negotiating better, more sustainable outcomes.
  • Preparing ITT documents, leading evaluation sessions, negotiating with suppliers, and presenting outcomes clearly. Assessing stakeholder requirements to ensure value and risk management.
  • Managing the contract database, e-Sourcing tools, and supplier management protocols, including creating and managing preferred suppliers and monitoring performance.
  • Providing guidance on procurement policies and procedures to stakeholders.
  • Researching market data to estimate, negotiate prices, and identify innovations for goods, services, and works.
  • Demonstrating attention to detail, organizational skills, and solutions-focused thinking, with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines. Strong communication skills at all levels are essential.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

We seek a driven and motivated team member with:

  • At least 2 years of experience in a regulated procurement role.
  • CIPS qualification or willingness to work towards it.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Knowledge of Public Contract Regulations and OJEU/FTS.
  • Understanding of procurement best practices under competition law.
  • Methodical working approach.
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams to deliver projects on time and to high standards.
  • High attention to detail and ability to identify anomalies in reports and data.
  • Problem-solving capabilities.
  • Organized, accurate, independent, reliable, and proactive in ownership of work.
