Job summary

James Andrews Recruitment Solutions Ltd is recruiting on behalf of a Housing Association based in Liverpool for a permanent Buyer. This full-time role requires office presence in Liverpool five days a week, with occasional travel to St Helens and Warrington. Salary is £41,529, with start date ASAP.

Key duties include managing procurement activities, coordinating tender processes, and developing sourcing strategies to deliver best value. CIPS qualified or pursuing qualification is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Significant experience in procurement/purchasing.
  • In-depth understanding of the full procurement lifecycle and sourcing methodologies.
  • CIPS qualified or actively working towards qualification.

Responsibilities

  • Managing procurement activities across a range of goods, services and works, working closely with stakeholders across the business.
  • Leading and supporting competitive tendering processes, including RFIs, RFQs, ITTs and mini-competitions, ensuring compliance with procurement policies and procedures.
  • Providing procurement advice and support to internal stakeholders, helping to develop sourcing strategies and achieve best value.
  • Preparing tender documentation, evaluating supplier submissions and supporting contract award and implementation.
  • Building and maintaining strong supplier relationships, monitoring performance and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Identifying opportunities to reduce costs, improve quality and deliver process efficiencies through effective procurement and supplier management.
  • Maintaining accurate procurement records, workplans and savings trackers, ensuring all activity is transparent, compliant and auditable.
  • Supporting supplier onboarding, market research, benchmarking and data analysis to inform procurement decisions.
  • Promoting the effective use of procurement systems and contributing to the continuous improvement of procurement processes and business initiatives.
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, company policies, health and safety requirements and equality and diversity standards while supporting wider team objectives.

Job description

Experience required:

  • Significant experience in procurement/purchasing

Working hours:

  • 39 hour per week
  • Monday – Friday, 9am – 5pm
