Anderson Knight Limited is partnering with our client to recruit an NPD Buyer. The role focuses on sourcing materials, ingredients, and packaging to meet quality, cost, and delivery targets while supporting new product development from concept to launch.

You will work closely with NPD, Technical, Operations, and Supply Chain teams, build strong supplier relationships, and drive commercial value through effective negotiations and cost analysis.

• Experience as Buyer, NPD Buyer or Procurement.
• Strong supplier management and negotiation skills.
• Experience supporting new product development projects.
• Commercially aware with solid costing abilities.
• Excellent organisational and stakeholder management skills.

Responsabilités

• Source new raw materials, ingredients and packaging to support product development.
• Identify, evaluate and onboard new suppliers.
• Manage supplier performance for quality, reliability and cost.
• Obtain quotations, specifications and product samples.
• Collaborate with NPD teams to understand project requirements and timelines.
• Provide procurement input on costings, feasibility and supply risks.
• Ensure new materials meet technical, regulatory and quality standards.
• Support product scale-up activities and successful launches.
• Maintain accurate material, pricing and specification data in internal systems.

Anderson Knight is delighted to be partnering with our client to recruit an NPD Buyer. This is an excellent opportunity to join a market-leading manufacturer and play a key role in bringing innovative products to market while contributing to ongoing business growth and success.

The NPD Buyer will play a key role in supporting the development and launch of new products by sourcing materials, ingredients, and packaging that meet quality, cost, and delivery requirements. Working closely with NPD, Technical, Operations, and Supply Chain teams, you will help ensure a smooth transition from product concept through to launch while building strong supplier relationships and driving commercial value.

Key Responsibilities

Sourcing & Supplier Management

• Source new raw materials, ingredients, and packaging to support product development.


• Identify, evaluate, and onboard new suppliers in line with company procedures.


• Manage supplier performance, ensuring quality, reliability, and cost competitiveness.


• Obtain quotations, specifications, and product samples as required.

NPD Project Support

• Collaborate with NPD teams to understand project requirements and timelines.


• Provide procurement input on costings, feasibility, and supply risks.


• Ensure new materials meet technical, regulatory, and quality standards.


• Support product scale-up activities and successful product launches.

Costing & Commercial Analysis

• Prepare accurate material and packaging costings for new products.


• Analyse costs and identify opportunities for savings and efficiencies.


• Support supplier negotiations around pricing, lead times, MOQs, and contractual terms.

Data & Process Management

• Maintain accurate material, pricing, and specification data within internal systems.


• Monitor project progress and ensure procurement activities align with launch deadlines.


• Support sustainability, compliance, and ethical sourcing initiatives.


• Demonstrate an understanding of business processes and procurement best practice.

Ideal Candidate

• Previous experience within a Buyer, NPD Buyer, or Procurement role, ideally within manufacturing or FMCG.


• Strong supplier management and negotiation skills.


• Experience supporting new product development projects.


• Commercially aware with strong analytical and costing abilities.


• Excellent organisational and stakeholder management skills.


• Proficient in ERP systems and Microsoft Office applications.
