A well-established manufacturer in the specialty chemicals industry is searching for a Buyer to join its growing procurement team.

With over five decades of market presence, this organisation is a trusted partner across Personal Care, Industrial, Energy, Agri, and Household sectors - delivering custom chemical solutions at scale. This role offers a unique opportunity to play a pivotal part in the backbone of a leading UK manufacturer, helping secure the raw materials that keep innovation moving.

Key responsibilities of the Buyer will include:

  1. Source and purchase a diverse range of chemicals and raw materials
  2. Negotiate pricing, contracts, and supply agreements
  3. Build and manage strong supplier relationships
  4. Ensure continuity of supply to meet production deadlines
  5. Monitor market trends and proactively manage risks and opportunities
  6. Work closely with operations and technical teams to align on material needs
  7. Maintain strict compliance with environmental, quality, and safety standards

You will have:

  1. Proven experience purchasing chemicals or raw materials
  2. Strong negotiation and contract management skills
  3. Understanding of global and local supply chains
  4. Confidence in using procurement platforms and systems
  5. Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  6. Experience in the chemical manufacturing sector is a significant advantage
