Buyer required by an industry-leading engineering company, which is busy and growing. The successful Buyer will be responsible for sourcing and selecting new suppliers and managing existing supplier performance.

Main Duties:

• Raising requests for quotation and purchase orders.
• Supporting with demand, supply, and fulfilment planning.
• Managing stock levels and purchasing in line with manufacturing demands.
• Ensuring that information within the ERP system is up to date.
• Liaising with the engineering team and providing updates.
• Sourcing new suppliers and negotiating contracts and cost savings.
• Managing lead times and monitoring supplier performance.
• Managing the supplier onboarding process.
• Meeting with suppliers to resolve performance issues.

The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate the following:

• Previous purchasing experience gained in an engineering, manufacturing, or equivalent environment.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Analytical with an aptitude for figures.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and ERP systems.
