A leading NHS Trust is seeking a Buyer for its operational purchasing team in Dudley. The successful candidate will ensure timely procurement of medical supplies while balancing cost and quality. The successful applicant will work as part of the busy operational purchasing team and will be involved in the day-to-day purchasing and supply needs of the Trust, ensuring that critical supplies of medical and related goods are purchased in a timely manner and to the standards of the NHS. This role requires a determined approach, balancing cost and quality to guarantee that the needs of wards and departments are always met on time, maintaining patient care.
The Procurement Department plays a key role in identifying and reporting on cost improvements, with the Buyer’s activity being central to this process. The role includes purchasing goods and services on behalf of the Trust, striving to achieve the best value according to procurement procedures, policies, and the Trust’s strategy. The successful candidate must use various computer applications, work independently, be flexible, and advise users on the best supply routes for their requirements.
