What does this team do?
Our purchasing department plays a vital role in ensuring the success of Randox Group, through sourcing and acquiring a variety of goods required to ensure positive outcomes for our clients and customers. They do this by undertaking efficient acquisition and procurement of goods and services.

Location: Randox Laboratories, 55 Diamond Road, Crumlin, BT29 4QY.

Contract Offered: Full-time, Permanent.

Working Hours/Flexibility: 40 hours per week. Monday to Thursday 8.15am to 5.30pm and 8am to 1pm on a Friday.

What does the role involve?
This role is tasked with the buying operations within the purchasing department, ensuring that all orders are placed and received on time in accordance with standard procedures and departmental requirements.

1. Preparation and placing of supplier orders.
2. Ensuring all incoming goods are delivered on time.
3. Sourcing of potential new suppliers.
4. Providing/cross-checking of supplier invoices against orders placed.
5. Maintenance of accurate purchasing records.
6. Maintenance of service contracts.
7. Conduct supplier negotiations and establish price structures.
8. Generating and following up on supplier corrective action requests.
9. Hiring of subcontractors.
10. Developing and maintaining strong lines of communication with other Randox departments.

Essential criteria:

1. Awareness of principles of lean manufacturing.
2. Willingness to travel to meet suppliers/customers.
3. Previous experience in a Buyer position.
4. UK Driving license.
5. Eligibility to work within the UK.

Desirable:

1. Chartered Institute of Purchasing qualification.
2. Auditing experience.
3. Training in Six Sigma.
4. Understanding of Total Quality Management.
5. Placement experience.
6. Working knowledge of Health and Safety requirements.
7. Knowledge of inventory systems like SAGE.
8. Qualified to degree level in Life Science or Business-related subject.
