Buyer - Based in Beds (Hybrid, 2 days in office) up to £42,854

Your new company: Join a dynamic and forward-thinking procurement team that is passionate about innovation and sustainability. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a team committed to excellence and making a significant impact in the procurement field.

Your new role: As a Buyer, you will play a critical role in the procurement of various commodities and services, including IT systems, infrastructure, construction projects, and marketing campaigns. You will manage the end-to-end procurement process, from planning and sourcing to contract management and supplier performance. Your responsibilities will include:

  1. Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective procurement and contract management across multiple categories.
  2. Developing and implementing procurement strategies with a focus on sustainability.
  3. Leading evaluation sessions, negotiating with suppliers, and presenting outcomes clearly.
  4. Managing the contract database and e-Sourcing tools.
  5. Providing advice and guidance on procurement policies and procedures.
  6. Researching market data to estimate and negotiate prices and innovations.

What you need to succeed: To be successful in this role, you will need:

  1. At least 2 to 3 years of experience in a procurement role with experience of running tenders end to end.
  2. Open to a diverse range of category experience due to the nature of the role, including, but not exclusively, Construction, Infrastructure, IT, and Marketing.
  3. CIPS qualification or willingness to work towards it.
  4. Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
  5. Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  6. The ability to work methodically and manage multiple projects.
  7. Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
  8. The ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams and deliver projects on time.
